Reservation Information

  • Merryspring is a nature park as well as an educational center. Its gardens are tended regularly by the head gardener and volunteers.  They are not intended to be formal and are often intentionally left in  their natural state as part of our education mission and/or for self- seeding.
  • Reservation includes the building (Ross Center) with a conference room (20’ x 22’) capacity of approximately 50 people, bathroom and small kitchen, as well as the grounds including the hexagon (22’ diameter) which seats about 30 people. Six rectangular tables (6’x2.5’) and about 40  plastic stacking chairs are also available for use.
  • Tents are recommended for more than 50 people.
  • A $200 security deposit is required and will be refunded if all lease agreement terms are adhered to and key is returned, or if cancellation is at least four weeks prior to the event.
  • Tents: No larger than 40’ x 80’ must be set up no earlier than Friday and taken down no later than Monday. For each day the tent remains after that time, $100 will be deducted from your security deposit.
  • Alcohol shall be served only by someone with a valid license to do so.
  • Makeshift dance floors must be taken up off the grass at the end of the day, not left overnight.
  • Porta potties are required for 50 or more people.
  • Reservation time is generally from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. but may vary if arranged ahead of time.
  • Key may be issued up to a week in advance.
  • Merryspring is not responsible for personal property of any kind left on the premises.
  • Music may be set up in the hexagon where there are electrical outlets and benches.
  • Power outlets are in Hexagon, greenhouse exterior, Ross Center exterior and basement interior
  • Outside water spigots on Ross Center and Greenhouse (caterers use for clean-up)
  • Please remind caterers:  1) that if they use something belonging to Merryspring, they must put it back where it was found.  2) do not leave grease and/or oil of any kind anywhere in the Park.  3) to remove all their trash.  Note:  Consider withholding final payment from caterers until you are sure they have followed the above requests as your security deposit will not be refunded if the Park is not left as it was found.
  • 32 parking spaces; overflow parking in lower mown pasture area; Parking and driving of automobiles shall be only in designated areas; car-pooling is strongly recommended
  • NO open fires or fireworks of any kind in the park with the exception of gas grills used by professional caterers – no grills allowed inside garden circle.
