Go Birding at Merryspring!
April 9th - May 25th
Right now the spring bird migration is just starting. Summer residents and seasonal visitors have just started come back to Maine.
Merryspring’s trails and grounds are still open to the public, and now is a great time to start spring birding by visiting the Nature Center or even looking in your own backyard. While many of our spring migrants won’t be arriving until early to mid May, plenty of year round birds and some early species can be found outdoors.
In commemoration of the upcoming International Migratory Bird Day on May 9, local birder and naturalist Kristen Lindquist has made a handy checklist for all of the birds you might be able to see at Merryspring this season, available for free download here: Merryspring Birding Checklist – IMBD 2020 by Kristen Lindquist
As always, please practice safe physical distancing guidelines while visiting Merryspring, and please park vehicles at least one car-length away from each-other.
