Explorer Kits – Free Take-Home Activities

We’ve partnered with our friends at Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District for an alternative, take-home program for families this summer.

On Wednesday, June 30 we will bring back our popular free EXPLORER KITS for families and children.

To make environmental education opportunities available to everyone during a time of social distancing and economic hardship, Explorer Kits are free take-home activities designed to inspire outdoor exploration and independent learning. Each Wednesday between June 30 and August 18 a different Explorer Kit will be available for pickup at Merryspring. The Kits will feature instructions, materials, and ideas for children ages 4 to 9, with each week presenting a new surprise activity and theme.

A total of 30 Explorer Kits will be available each week on a first-come, first-served basis. The Explorer Kits can be picked up from a box in front of Merryspring’s Ross Center each Wednesday at 9 am.

Explorer Kits are free to all, but donations are accepted. For more information on Explorer Kits, please contact Merryspring at education@merryspring.org or 207-236-2239.
