KLSWCD Forestry Walk & Talk – October 8
October 8th: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District (KLSWCD) is pleased to offer a Forestry and Foliage Walk and Talk at Merryspring Nature Center on October 8 from 10:00 am to noon.
Join KLSWCD at Merryspring Nature Center located at 30 Conway Road, Camden as we walk the many forested trails in autumn. Alyssa Gregory, forester with the Maine Forest Service, will identify the various tree species, Joseph Roy, wildlife biologist with the Dept. of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife will educate us on best practices creating a healthy habitat, and Louisa Crane, MCC Americorps volunteer, will share her experience working with invasive plant species on the property. All three speakers have much information to share, and this event is not to be missed. Please arrive a few minutes early, as we want to cover as much material as possible in two hours. Both Rebecca Jacobs, Program Manager at KLSWCD and Brett Willard, Program Director at Merryspring Nature Center will be on hand to discuss upcoming programs and answer any questions.
We will follow the Maine CDC regarding mask requirements. Space is limited; registration for this free event is greatly appreciated. Please register at https://www.knox-lincoln.org/fall-foliage-walk-and-talk or call 596-2040.
