Mapping Merryspring’s Invasive Plants with Rebecca Jacobs – June 9

Visitors will learn about invasive species- the plants “from away” that are disturbing natural ecosystems and replacing the native vegetation that defines our region and on which wildlife depends, and learn to recognize key invasives in the area and explore control & prevention strategies. Jacobs will speak about these plants as well as her development of an invasive plant management plan for Merryspring in 2019. Guests will find out what she discovered and how Merryspring will engage the 5-year plan to thwart these invaders. Optional walk to follow the seated discussion.
Rebecca Jacobs is the Program Manager of Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. She also operates her own gardening business, Gabriella’s Gardens in Camden.
