Mapping Merryspring’s Invasive Plants with Rebecca Jacobs – June 9

Seating for this event will be outdoors in chairs set-up a safe distance apart. This event is subject to change due to state and local regulations.***

Visitors will learn about invasive species- the plants “from away” that are disturbing natural ecosystems and replacing the native vegetation that defines our region and on which wildlife depends, and learn to recognize key invasives in the area and explore control & prevention strategies. Jacobs will speak about these plants as well as her development of an invasive plant management plan for Merryspring in 2019. Guests will find out what she discovered and how Merryspring will engage the 5-year plan to thwart these invaders. Optional walk to follow the seated discussion.

Rebecca Jacobs is the Program Manager of Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. She also operates her own gardening business, Gabriella’s Gardens in Camden.

This event is part of the Summer Talk series, sponsored by First National Bank.  This event is outdoors. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sun protection. In the event of rain this program will be canceled.
