Gardner John Fromer will lead an outdoor presentation on Opening the Perennial Garden at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, May 31 at 12:00 pm.
Spring is here, and it’s time to open the perennial garden. In this outdoor program, John Fromer will teach how to divide perennials, discuss strategies for weeding, and talk about how to care for young plants early in the growing season. The talk will be followed by a garden walk through the beautiful perennial borders at Merryspring. This program is the first of Fromer’s perennial gardening talk series, which will continue throughout the season at Merryspring.
Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. Together they grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs in a sustainable and authentic fashion. He currently serves on the Merryspring board of trustees.
This talk is part of Merryspring’s Outdoor Spring Talk series, sponsored by Camden Real Estate Company. Outdoor talks are held in the Hexagon at Merryspring. The cost of this program is $5 for the public, with a free admission for Merryspring members. No preregistration is necessary for this event.
