Perennial Biology & Classification – August 25
August 25th: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Gardener John Fromer will lead a presentation on perennial biology and classification at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, August 25 at 12:00 pm.
Understanding how plants live is an essential skill for becoming a better gardener. In this class John Fromer will teach gardeners to go “behind the scenes” and learn how plants function and grow though basic botany and classification skills. Fromer says “Once you know ‘how’, you will understand your plants’ needs, and you will make better, informed decisions when managing your gardens.”
Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener. Together they grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs in a sustainable and authentic fashion.
